The before
He paid an agency for Facebook ads, but the leads were terrible.
Sikandar owns The Lawnfather, a hardscaping, landscaping, and snow removal company in Calgary. He's run it for 13 years.
When he wanted more customers, he did what a lot of owners do. He hired an agency to run his Facebook and Instagram ads. About three weeks in, he knew he had a problem. "The lead quality was so bad," he says.
He tried to fix it. He sat through meeting after meeting with them about the lead quality, and nothing changed. And if he had to manage them that closely, there was no point in working with them.
"If I want to be that involved in the marketing, I could just do it myself. Waste of time. Waste of money." — Sikandar, owner of The Lawnfather
The contract had a three-month minimum. He ran it out and didn’t renew. By then he was about done with agencies.
The turning point
But then, he saw an ad for Wonderly.
Wonderly’s risk free offer sold him.
With the marketing agencies he’d worked with before, he paid for a retainer, ad spend, and marketing services — with no guarantee that the marketing worked. And it didn’t.
With Wonderly, he didn’t pay unless he got revenue from Wonderly.
“You guys pay the ad spend. You do all of it. I just go and close the leads. It was a no-brainer.” — Sikandar, owner of The Lawnfather
The leads from Wonderly started coming in, and they were good leads.
What happened next
Now, The Lawnfather had a good problem: too many great leads
In his first month with Wonderly, the leads came in fast: around 75 leads and close to 50 booked site visits — more than the crew could keep up with.
“We were kind of like, ‘Oh, shit, what do we do?’” says Sikandar. They couldn’t handle the lead volume.
To Sikandar, that was a good problem to have. “It’s a good kind of pressure. Like, hey, we’re getting leads, let’s solve this,” he says.
Since then, they’ve hired new employees to help handle the lead volume.
The results
They’re projecting to add $400,000 to $600,000 in new revenue from Wonderly leads.
Now, eight or nine of their Wonderly leads are on the verge of closing, worth $7,000 to $35,000 each.
The quality of the each Wonderly lead is great:
- They need the services Lawnfather offered
- They have the budget to afford the jobs.
- They’re ready to buy.
While he’s still new to Wonderly, Sikandar’s hoping Wonderly adds at least $400,000 to $600,000 in revenue this season.
“I wish you guys were around when I first started. We would have grown a lot quicker.” — Sikandar, owner of The Lawnfather
He’s already referring Wonderly to friends in the trade.
When asked what he would tell other business owners about Wonderly, Sikandar says: "I'm already referring Wonderly to other people. Just sign up."
